Richard Adanu

Richard Adanu, MMB ChB, FWACS, MPH, Obstetrician Gynecologist, Dean of the University of Ghana School of Public Health and Professor of Women’s Reproductive Health/University of Ghana, is a key partner in the one-year cross continental MPH program of NYU. Dr. Adanu teaches graduate and undergraduate students in public health and population studies at University of Ghana and serves as a consultant obstetrician gynaecologist with the School of Public Health, University of Ghana and the University Hospital.

 In addition to clinical practice and medical education, Richard Adanu conducts research in women's health with a special focus on reducing maternal morbidity, pelvic organ prolapse and pelvic floor repair, using his exceptional skills in epidemiology and statistical analysis of data. His research interests include:epidemiology of obstetric and gynaecological conditions in Ghana, family planning and abortion, maternal morbidity and mortality, cervical cancer screening, and women’s health.
