Due to Spanish immigration law, online classes for credit are not permitted.

Spanish Language Courses: Each semester, students are required to take a Spanish language class. An assessment will be given to determine skill level.

If you take a course that is taught in Spanish while at NYU Madrid, you will fill the language requirement.

CCMPH students have the option of taking at least three electives during the course of the program. Electives are subject to change.

GPH short-term programs

GPH offers short-term study abroad intensive courses during January (J-term) and spring break. This is a great way for students to travel to another country for one to two weeks, earn 3-credits, and experience a different culture. Cross-Continental MPH students are able to participate in these programs but must apply to the programs during the application process, and are required to pay the airfare and the program fee that accompanies the program. Tuition and fees are included in the CCMPH tuition as long as the student's credits don't exceed 46 (or full-time course load).

Students that wish to take a course during J-term outside of the U.S. must take into consideration that they will have to apply for the visa to Spain during the winter break. Students may want to consider taking a course in the U.S., or apply for a second U.S. passport.

Required Credits: All MPH students must earn a minimum of 46-credits (full-time status) to graduate. There are opportunities to take electives during the fall, J-term, spring and spring break.

Credit Overload: If a student chooses to take more than 46-credits (or full-time course load) during the program, unless required (ie Spanish language instruction), they are responsible for paying the additional tuition and fees for those courses and must receive approval from their adviser in advance of registering for classes.

Florence learning outside of the classroom.
