Advanced Certificate in LGBT Health, Education & Social Services

The Advanced Certificate in LGBT Health, Education & Social Services program, which is offered through NYU Steinhardt, is designed to give you the tools and depth of knowledge to work with lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people, or to work in educational, health, research, counseling, and community-based settings that support and serve these populations.

During this 12-credit, 4-course program, you will become knowledgeable about the social, political, economic, and health disparities faced by LGBT individuals across the lifespan, and learn to understand the intersection of sexual orientation and gender identity with regard to race, ethnicity, immigration and citizenship status, social class, age, and ability, as well as the major policy issues affecting LGBT people.

Who Should Enroll?

If you work or would like to work with LGBT individuals and/or on LGBT issues in any professional setting, the Advanced Certificate in LGBT Health, Education & Social Services will provide you with the specific knowledge and skills you need to help understand, relate to, and help the overall well being of gender variant populations.
