Tuesday, April 9th, 2024 - Getting to know NYC Community Based Organizations
CJHL was joined by local environmental organizations including the Climate Film Festival, The Bronx River Alliance, BioBus, NYU SBS Energy, Climate Justice, and Sustainability Lab, and the National Resource Defense Council to learn more about their mission and values, current projects, upcoming events, and any volunteer, internship or APE opportunities.
Tuesday, November 14, 2023 - CJHL & CFF Community Event - Film Screening of "Where It Floods: Planting Hope in Coney Island"
CJHL and the Climate Film Festival collaborated for a screening of the National Wildlife Federation's Resilient Schools Consortium (RiSC) program documentary, "Where It Floods: Planting Hope in Coney Island." The short film follows the journey of students from seven NYC middle and high schools as they learn about climate impacts and the natural and built solutions that increase climate resiliency in Coney Island, and is filmed and produced by Driven Studio in collaboration with the National Wildlife Federation, students and partners. The screening was followed by a panel discussion with students and community partners featured in the film.
October 24th, 2023 - Book Talk: The End of Eden with Adam Welz
CJHL was joined by Adam Welz, author of "The End of Eden: Wild Nature in the Age of Climate Breakdown”. The book explores the interconnected, multi-species impact of anthropogenic climate change. After reading a portion of the book, there was a discussion and Q&A.

September 26, 2023 - CJHL Student Research Series
Four students from within and outside of GPH discussed their work for the NYU community on the intersections of climate and health. Student presenters included:
- Amy Colliver: Distress and Wellbeing in Ladakh’s Changing Environment
- Brianna Bellamy: Ecological Reciprocity: A Case Study of Utah Community Gardens
- Pooja Sharma and Shivangi Oza: Inequality on Our Plates: Factory Farming's Impact on Climate and Society
- Aadarsh Teli: Chemical & Organic Farming in the Greater Kodaikanal Region
