Dr. Shelley is a Professor of Public Health Policy and Management, Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Public Health Policy and Management and Director of the Global Center for Implementation Science at the New York University (NYU) School of Global Public Health (GPH). Dr. Shelley conducts translational, population-based, and policy-relevant research that aims to optimize dissemination and implementation of tobacco use treatment in safety net health care delivery systems in the US and Viet Nam. She applies implementation research methods to study the influence of organizational and individual-level factors on implementation of evidence-based tobacco policies and practices and tests strategies for addressing barriers to implementation in a wide range of settings, including health care systems, communities and public housing. Her research is funded by NIH and AHRQ and has led to system-level changes across a range of health care settings that have resulted in sustainable improvements in tobacco use treatment and is elucidating strategies to enhance smoke free housing policy implementation. Dr. Shelley received her medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and MPH in Health Policy and Management at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health.
