Description

The third Capstone team of the Alliance for Public Health (Alliance) focused their efforts on exploring barriers and facilitators to scaling up pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV among sexual minority men (SMM) in Ukraine. Consisting of 5 GPH students, the team utilized an implementation science framework to guide their research. Despite facing setbacks such as bureaucratic delays in the PrEP pilot program, the team demonstrated resilience and adaptability by adjusting their qualitative interview guides and continuing with their planned interviews with NGO staff and physicians. Overall, their work in Kyiv highlighted the importance of addressing HIV/AIDS in the region.
