Resources for Clinicians

1 out of every 2 smokers said they were motivated to quit because their health care provider recommended it.1
Health care providers play a crucial role in helping their patients quit. NYC Treats Tobacco has complied resources to help health care systems and their providers better encourage their patients to quit.
Find here tools and resources for clinicians adopting and implementing evidence-based tobacco dependence treatment. The six categories delimited offer insight into best practices for effective care as well as recommendations for treating particular patient populations. Alongside best practices, fact sheets, and decision support tools, clinicians can also find resources to provide directly to their patients as they embark on their quit journeys.

All tools provided have sourced from distinguished institutions ranging from the New York City Department of Health, the Center for Disease Control, the New York City Tobacco Cessation Training & Technical Assistance Center, and more. If you have further questions about the information presented, please contact New York City Treats Tobacco at NYCTT@nyu.edu.
