Dr. Oyinkansola Taiwo, MD, MPH is a physician and public health professional who recently completed her Master of Public Health at New York University with a concentration in Global Health. She holds a strong academic record and has been recognized with several awards,
including the Global Public Health Practice Scholar Award, and the Kimber Health Leadership Fellowship Award. Her academic journey has taken her from clinical medicine in Nigeria to global health research and implementation work in the U.S. and internationally.

Oyinkansola currently serves as a Graduate Research Assistant at NYU’s Applied Global Public Health Lab and the Implementing Sustainable Evidence-Based Engagement Lab. In these roles, she has led community-based research, co-authored policy-relevant publications, and contributed to public health initiatives aimed at improving access to care and advancing equity in underserved populations.

She chose to become an SGPHF mentor because of the impact mentorship has had on her own growth. With a mentoring style that is structured, goal-oriented, and hands-on, Oyinkansola hopes to guide another student in finding their own path in public health, just as she was once
guided, and create a space for mutual learning and empowerment.
