Aishwarya Rao

Dr. Aishwarya Rao is an internationally trained Dentist and graduated in May 2023 as a Master of Public Health from NYU School of Global Public Health. Her interest in Global Health and preventive interventions stems from volunteering experiences in rural Public Health Dentistry. She is passionate about developing and evaluating programs that aim to increase access to affordable quality healthcare for socioeconomically disadvantaged populations. As a Research Assistant at NYU, Aishwarya has worked on a research project funded by the Department of Defense to review sexual assault prevention strategies at DoD, US Department of State funded Trafficking in Persons (JTIP) project to increase access to healthcare and employment resources among labor trafficked Denotified Tribal (DNTs) population in India. Through her participation in the ISEE lab, Aishwarya has co-authored a systematic review to evaluate the implementation outcomes of evidence-based interventions to reduce maternal malnutrition in low and middle-income countries and was the lead on a systematic review of telemedicine for COVID. ISEE lab has ensured extraordinary academic and professional opportunities for members to hone Public Health Researcher skills. As a MPH graduate and Senior Global Public Health Fellow (SGPHF) mentor, Dr. Rao hopes to continue working on projects that increase feasibility, sustainability and empower the local populations.
