Brian Angulo, MPA, MPH is a recent dual-degree graduate of New York University, earning a Master of Public Administration from the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and a Master of Public Health from the School of Global Public Health. Throughout his academic career, Brian focused on health equity, healthcare access, and systems strengthening for underserved communities.
Brian brings hands-on experience in program coordination, research, and policy implementation through his work at NYC Health + Hospitals, NYU’s Global Action for Urban Health Lab, and NYU’s ISEE Lab. In these roles, he supported multidisciplinary teams, led data collection and analysis, and developed policy tools and implementation frameworks to improve healthcare services for vulnerable populations.
He is committed to the long-term goal of improving health systems locally and globally — especially in underrepresented and marginalized communities — informed by his own background and values. Brian was raised by parents who were healthcare professionals in Perú, which shaped his interest in tackling health disparities across diverse cultural contexts.
Brian hopes to contribute to the SGPHF Mentorship Program by offering guidance around research skills, career pathways in public health, and navigating the unique challenges of becoming a public health practitioner dedicated to equity-centered, evidence-based practice.
