Jumoke Opeyemi (Jumi) recently graduated with her dual masters in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Jumi’s thesis was titled “Type of Health Insurance and Unmet Mental Health Care During the COVID-19 Pandemic in New York City” utilizing 2020 NYC Community Health Survey (CHS). While at New York University (NYU), she was awarded the NYU College of Arts and Sciences Scholar Distinction Award. Jumi’s undergraduate research titled “Analyzing Risk Factors for Maternal Mortality in the Rural Areas of Lagos” was awarded a NYU Dean’s Award for Undergraduate Research Award. Other notable awards also include the APHA Conference Presenter Award based on the research that was conducted in Nigeria.. Jumi was also a 2014 National Coca Cola scholar and awarded the prestigious scholarship for her undergraduate studies. Jumi is currently a Program Coordinator for WellLife Network where she manages and directs a rehabilitation program serving the developmentally disabled population.
