Accompanied by Drs. Chris Dickey and Jack Caravanos, the Capstone team embarked on a journey to eastern Senegal with the aim of studying malnutrition. Their primary focus was on analyzing food delivery systems in collaboration with the World Food Programme, while also grappling with the complexities presented by migrating populations. In addition, they conducted visits to various toxic waste sites, where they verified the effectiveness of cleanup operations. Their observations underscored the urgency of addressing contamination at a pesticide storage facility, presenting formidable challenges for the FAO.
