Evaluating Malaria Camps in Rural India

Funding Period

Description

Dr. Jane Carlton, a faculty affiliate of NYU GPH, led a team of NYU researchers, including Danielle Ompad, Yesim Tozan, and Anne Kessler, on two field visits in June and September to Rourkela, India. Their objective was to evaluate a village-based malaria intervention implemented by the Odisha State Malaria Control Program (OSMCP). The state of Odisha had long grappled with forest malaria, compounded by poor access to healthcare in villages which was exacerbated during the monsoon season, particularly in the mountainous and remote eastern region of India.
