Description

Two GPH Capstone teams set of to Kenya and Ghana to assess feasibility of conducting RTS,S vaccine safety surveillance. Led by Emily Goldmann, the Ghana team collaborated with the Navrongo Health Research Centre (NHRC), while James Stark led the Kenya team's partnership with the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI). Throughout their journeys, both teams conducted interviews with health professionals, scrutinized databases, and observed routine data collection processes. Initial assessments suggest the potential effectiveness of electronic databases for facilitating safety monitoring, where vaccination and adverse events following immunization (AEFI) information can be linked.
