Marina Thomatos
Marina Thomatos is currently the Director of Technology Enhanced Education and Adjunct Instructor at the School of Global Public Health. She also just completed her three year term as Co-Chair of NYU's Instructional Technology Committee (ITC). In addition to her work at NYU, she is also an adjunct professor of archaeology at Hunter College (CUNY) where she teaches both face to face and online courses. She has published articles and a book on the Greek Bronze Age. Marina earned a B.A. in Art History from New York University (FAS), an M.A. in Archaeology from University College London, and a PhD. in Classics/Archaeology from the University of Edinburgh. In 2018, she completed her second M.A. in Digital Media Design for Learning at NYU.
Marian Tes
Marian Tes is a Senior Instructional Technologist on the Technology-Enhanced Education team at GPH. Previously, Marian worked at NYU Stern's Learning Science Lab as an Educational Technologist. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Educational Communication & Technology at Steinhardt, where she also earned an M.A. in International Education. Marian earned her BA from Colgate University.
Before entering the field of educational technology, she had a prior career in research and grants management and worked at various non-profit organizations such as the Council of State Governments' Justice Center and the Center for Technology and Economic Development as well as volunteered with projects, including Opportunities for Equitable Access to Quality Education in the DRC, AIDS Walk, and Generation Rwanda. Her own research interests include data and digital literacy, international development, and the mental health & well-being of refugees and other vulnerable populations. Her interests in the field of Ed Tech include user experience, accessibility, visual communication, learning science, and design-based research.
Kevin Guevara
Born in San Salvador, El Salvador, Kevin migrated to the United States when he was 10 years old, living most of his time in New Jersey where he went to college, and still calls “home.” Kevin holds a bachelor's degree in religious studies and philosophy from Pillar College and a master's degree in education from the University of Pennsylvania. During his master's, his research focused on competency-based education using gamification, and digital badges under Universal Design for Learning. (UDL) He comes from the Loomis Chaffee School, a co-ed 9th-Postgrad Boarding School where he taught History and Philosophy and assisted Faculty in their design and instruction of curricula through technology. He joins GPH as an Instructional Technologist with joy and excitement.
Ruby Wu
Ruby Wu is an Instructional Technologist on the Technology-Enhanced Education team at NYU GPH. Ruby worked as a Learning Experience Designer with colleagues at the NYU RIDDLE Lab prior to joining the team. She attended NYU Steinhardt for both her undergraduate as well as graduate studies, earning a B.S. in Media, Culture, and Communication, and an M.A. in Learning Technology and Experience Design (previously known as Digital Media Design for Learning).
