The PHI/CDC Global Health Fellowship Program, implemented by the Public Health Institute, is a CDC-funded fellowship that supports promising emerging global public health professionals to develop technical skills needed to respond to today’s public health needs and challenges. Fellows have the exciting opportunity to work with leading experts in CDC’s Center for Global Health to contribute to real projects around the world across six technical areas:
- Monitoring & Evaluation
- Epidemiology
- Surveillance
- Strategic Information
- Program Management
- HIV Prevention
Fellowship at a glance:
- Full time, 6 - 12-month placements within CDC offices worldwide (length may vary by placement opportunity)
- Mentorship from CDC’s leading experts in global health
- Access to training and professional development advice and resources
- Stipends for placements based on Atlanta GS Payscale: GS-8 Step 1 (MPH) and GS-9 Step 1 (Ph.D. in PH)
- Predetermined supplemental allowances for housing, local travel, travel/training, and health
- Overseas fellows receive a one-time shipping allowance
Minimum Requirements:
- MPH or PhD in Public Health from a CEPH-accredited school or program
- Qualifying degree received prior to June before the beginning of fellowship or within the last five years
- U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident and authorized to work in the U.S.
