A Virtual Colloquium presented by Dr. Angela Pfammatter Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine

Obesity is a substantial public health concern, but significant resource constraints such as time, costs, and access limit the utility of effective, gold-standard behavioral interventions. Using Multiphase Optimization Strategy (MOST) provides an opportunity to develop an intervention that balances effectiveness with affordability, scalability, and efficiency.

In this talk, Dr. Pfammatter will highlight the application of all phases of MOST as part of a research program to optimize weight management interventions. As well, consistent with the continuous optimization principle, examples of leveraging data from prior optimization trials to test a treatment in a different context will be provided. Such a research program aims to provide evidence to support dissemination of a scalable, cost-effective behavioral treatment with potential to shift clinical practice guidelines, inform policy, and reduce the prevalence of obesity.
