Global Black Health Matters (GBHM) is an original television series developed in partnership between the NYU Office of Global Inclusion and Ubiquita Worldwide which centers health empowerment within Black communities and features conversations with medical practitioners, researchers, and health care advocates, within US and global contexts.
The pilot episode “Unhealthy in Health Care” explores the health journeys of women impacted by cancer and strategies for personal action towards health empowerment and features activist and author Michaela angela Davis, infectious disease specialist Dr. Alexea Gaffney-Adams, NYU Meyers clinical assistant professor Dr. Selena Gilles, and producer and media personality Rebecca Gitana.
During this event we will also be joined by show producers and cast to explore the development and the importance of this show—including infectious disease specialist and cast member Dr. Alexea Gaffney-Adams, CEO at Chicks with MDs and consulting medical producer Dr. Lisa Whitty Bradley, and CEO at Ubiquita Worldwide and show executive producer Kimberly Knox.
