Off-Campus Employment Options for F-1 Students

September 13
2-3:30pm
NYU Wasserman Brooklyn, Wasserman Brooklyn Presentation Space, 311 Bridge Street, Brooklyn

Hosted by the NYU Wasserman Center for Career Development

Are you an F-1 international student at NYU who’s interested in working/interning off-campus, but not sure what your next step should be? Chances are you’ll need work authorization in order to maintain your F-1 status. This workshop covers what you need to know about your off-campus employment options: an overview of different types of work authorization (namely CPT and OPT), what to consider when choosing the option that fits for you, and how to get through the application process. We’ll also briefly cover employment-related topics like social security, tax, health insurance, and extensions. This event is co-sponsored by OGS.
