Please join us in welcoming Dr. Shahab for an exciting presentation on implementation research (IR) where he will discuss UNICEF's approach to IR, as well as key lessons learned and experiences throughout his career.

About the Speaker:
Dr. ASM Shahabuddin (Shahab) is working as a Health Specialist at the Primary Health Care and Health Systems Strengthening (PHC-HSS) Unit of UNICEF HQ in New York where he supports and coordinates implementation research initiatives for immunization and maternal, newborn and child health programs in resource poor settings. Dr. Shahab has a PhD in Public Health jointly from the Institute of Tropical Medicine (ITM) Antwerp, VU University Amsterdam and University of Barcelona. Prior to his doctoral study, Dr. Shahab did an advanced master’s in Public Health Methodology from Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in Brussels and a master’s in Public Health from North South University in Dhaka. Over the past 13 years, Dr. Shahab has worked as a researcher and research utilization specialist for different organizations including UNICEF, ITM Antwerp, BRAC James P Grant School of Public Health, FIGO and FHI360. He published widely on the issues related to maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health, particularly, application of implementation research approach to improve immunization coverage and equity. Dr. Shahab is a PRB policy communications fellow, and was awarded as an Emerging Voice for Global Health (EV4GH) by Health Systems Global in 2016.
