Please join the Department of Global & Environmental Health for a discussion-based brown bag session with Dr. Douglas Noble, Associate Director for Public Health Emergencies Preparedness and Response at UNICEF. Drawing on his global experience across UNICEF, the UK National Health Service, the World Health Organization, and the Commonwealth Fund, Dr. Noble will lead a conversation on how systems, communities, and leadership intersect to strengthen preparedness, response, and resilience in public health emergencies. 

Dr. Douglas Noble, BSc, BMBCh, MRCS, MPH, MD(Res), FRSPH, FFPH, is Associate Director for Public Health Emergencies Preparedness and Response at UNICEF, where he leads global efforts to protect children, families, and communities through preparedness, response, and the development of resilient systems.
Since joining UNICEF in 2013, he has held key leadership roles, including Regional Health Adviser for South Asia in Kathmandu and Deputy Representative for UNICEF China (2017–2023). His distinguished career also spans the UK National Health Service, the Department of Health, the Health Protection Agency, the World Health Organization, and a Harkness Fellowship with the Commonwealth Fund.

Dr. Noble studied science at the University of St. Andrews and medicine at Oxford University, earned a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University, and a research doctorate (MD) from Queen Mary University of London.

This event is open to the NYU Community (current students, faculty, and staff) for in-person attendance. The general public will only be allowed to participate virtually.
