Hosted by the Department of Biostatistics & NYU's Grossman School of Medicine

We have two exciting seminars lined up: "Precision Nosology for Mental Health Research" presented by Thaddeus Tarpey, followed by "Hierarchical Linear Models for Central Statistical Monitoring of Repeated Measures in Multicenter Clinical Trials" presented by Zhongyang Ma.

About the Presenters:
Dr. Thaddeus Tarpey is a Professor in the Division of Biostatistics within the Department of Population Health at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. His methodological research focus has been generally in the area of classification and precision medicine using high-dimensional data modalities, such as brain imaging data, to help inform optimal treatment decisions. He has been involved in several studies since joining the NYU Department of Population Health in 2018, including research in the areas of psychiatry and pain treatments.

Zhongyang Ma is a PhD candidate in Biostatistics at the Vilcek Institute of Graduate Biomedical Sciences at NYU School of Medicine. Her research focuses on the design, conduct, and analysis of clinical trials, as well as meta-analysis and Bayesian methods. Before joining NYU, she worked in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries, contributing to multiple Phase I–IV clinical trials in infectious diseases and neurology. She holds a master degree in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor degree in Mathematics from Xi’an Jiaotong University.

This event is open to the NYU Community (current students, faculty, and staff) for in-person attendance. The general public will only be allowed to participate virtually.
