What’s your name?
Lisa Kroin

What’s your job title?
Director, Registration & Academic Services

Where's your hometown?
The 'burbs of NYC

What kind of projects do you work on at GPH?
My job is not very project-oriented for the most part. I direct the scheduling of all GPH courses, work with chairs/program directors on course planning, manage the academic pages of the website,, and deal with all things Registration. I also serve as the go-to person for policies and procedures and faculty questions about courses. In addition, I ensure that students have completed all of their degree requirements prior to graduation.

How long have you been at NYU?
Since 2000! I started out as a temp and was supposed to be here for just two weeks. My temp assignment stretched to a few months and then I got hired — no interview required!

Is there an NYU benefit or perk that you use or think everyone should know about?
I've gone to a number of Broadway shows through NYU's ScholasTix program and the seats are always at least decent, if not great! It's wonderful to be able to experience Broadway without the hefty price tag.

What is your favorite spot on campus?
Washington Square Park, of course. Particularly in the spring, when everyone is out and there's live music playing - it's the best.

Do you have a hidden talent? If yes, please explain:
I have a background in visual art, and I'd say that's where most of my talent lies, though I don't do it nearly enough these days.

What is your favorite interest or hobby? Tell us about it:
I love singing and dancing, and I’m in a rock and pop choir which, sadly, has been out of commission since the pandemic started. We're hoping to resume this summer, if Covid cooperates.

Coffee or Tea?
Coffee, for sure, with oat milk. My favorite is the kind you get after dinner in a restaurant; why is it always so good??

Choose 3 famous people to be your best friends:
Kate McKinnon, Jane Goodall, Miss Piggy

Favorite travel destination:
I haven't traveled nearly enough, but Paris is truly one of the most beautiful cities ever. I loved it. And the food — oh, the food! C'est magnifique!
