In acknowledgment of her many contributions to the field of behavioral medicine, Dr. Linda Collins, professor of social and behavioral sciences, has been elected a Fellow of the Academy of Behavioral Medicine Research (ABMR).

The Academy recognized Dr. Collins as the principal developer of the Multiphase Optimization Strategy (MOST), a framework that has fundamentally changed the development, optimization, and testing of complex and adaptive health-related behavioral interventions. Dr. Collins’ research applies MOST to critical public health challenges, including smoking cessation, the prevention of excessive drinking and risky sex in college students, and HIV services.

At NYU GPH, Dr. Collins established the Center for Advancement and Dissemination of Intervention Optimization (CADIO). CADIO champions the science of intervention optimization to engineer solutions for enhanced public health impact.

ABMR is the premier honorary scientific organization for scientists working at the interface of behavior and medicine. It is composed of several hundred eminent senior investigators, all of whom have been elected as Fellows through a highly selective process.
