NYU Urban Initiative's Urban Research Seminar

October 07
12-1:30pm
105 E 17th St (Faculty Seminar Room 364, 3rd Floor)

At this NYU Urban Research Seminar, Dr. Danielle C. Ompad, Professor of Epidemiology and Deputy Director of the Center for Drug Use and HIV Research at NYU, will present her latest research on drug use through a harm reduction lens. Drawing from her extensive work funded by the National Institutes of Health, Dr. Ompad will explore trends in marijuana, heroin, crack, and cocaine use, with particular attention to the emerging use of new marijuana products and drug use among construction workers. Attendees will gain insight into how urban environments influence drug use patterns and the importance of addressing stigma in public health interventions. This event is ideal for anyone interested in urban health, substance use, public policy, and community-based research.

The NYU Research Seminar is a university-wide doctoral fellowship program, part of the Urban Initiative at NYU Wagner, designed to bring together doctoral fellows and faculty to engage with innovative urban research and practice.
