Seminars on Implementing Shared Decision Making in Real-World Clinical Settings and Integrating Social Needs Screening and Referral in Clinical Settings

April 30
9-10am
Online

Hosted by the Global Center for Implementation Science

How can we better define the current challenges in quality of care within clinical settings, and more importantly, how can we implement effective, real-world solutions? If you’re interested in these questions, don’t miss the chance to hear Dr. Makarov and Dr. Murray share their insights at the second virtual Affiliate Seminar on April 30 from 9:00-10:00 a.m.

Dr. Makarov and Dr. Murray bring complementary knowledge that bridges clinical care and health systems innovation. Dr. Makarov, Chief of the Urology Section at the Manhattan VA and Director of Surgical Research at NYU, focuses on improving care for men with prostate cancer through large-scale initiatives like VETCARE and THRIVE. Drawing on his experience, he will share practical insights in his presentation, "Implementing Shared Decision Making in Real-World Clinical Settings."

Alongside him, Dr. Murray, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health Policy and Management at NYU GPH, examines how health care systems can better address social determinants of health, the integration of social services within care, palliative care integration, and the organizational dimensions of payment. Drawing from her research, Dr. Murray will be presenting on "Integrating Social Needs Screening and Referral in Clinical Settings."

Together, their perspectives highlight significant challenges in clinical care and offer thoughtful considerations to address them, making this a valuable session you won’t want to miss!
