In honor of NYU Celebrates Service, NYU GPH faculty, staff, and CRFT alumni came together across New York City for its annual fall Community Service Day. Together, volunteers served 143 hot lunches at Trinity Services and Food for the Homeless, assembled 123 essential hygiene kits with the Alliance for Positive Change, and delivered meals to homebound elders with Encore Community Services.

Trinity Services and Food for the Homeless: Volunteers prepped produce, stocked pantry shelves, sliced bread, and wrapped utensils before assembling a smooth service line to serve 143 hot lunches. After lunch, the team set up the food pantry to deliver fresh groceries to local households, chopped fresh ingredients to prepare for the next meal service, and helped Trinity staff clean up and reset the space.

Alliance for Positive Change: Volunteers built an efficient assembly line to pack 123 hygiene kits—filled with razors, body soap, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and washcloths. The team officially surpassed previous kit counts from both 2024 (110) and 2025 (115)!

Encore Community Services: Volunteers took to the streets on foot to deliver critical, fresh meals directly to the doorsteps of homebound elders, providing vital labor support that Encore needed while brightening the day of local seniors.
