Professional overview

Now retired from clinical practice, Linda Granowetter was a Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologist  for close to 40 years, Always, her primary goal was to deliver patient centered humanistic care. She also was dedicated to clinical research to provide better outcomes, and so served as an investigator  and member of the Institutional Performance Committee for the Children’s Oncology Group. Her research focus was in improving the care of children and adolescents with bone tumors, During a decade at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of NY (NY Presbyterian Hospital) she was the Clinical Care Director for the BMT and Hematology-Oncology unit, worked to start a pediatric palliative care service there, and she served on the IRB.  During her decade at NYU, she served as the Division Chief of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology, and Vice Chair of the Ethics Committee. She founded the Pediatric Palliative Care service at the Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU. She is a graduate of the Montefiore-Cardozo certificate program in Bioethics.
