At the NYU School of Global Public Health (GPH), we take tremendous pride in recognizing and honoring the outstanding achievements of our esteemed alumni, friends and partners. These awards are a testament to the dedication and impact of individuals and groups associated with the NYU GPH community.
Award Categories

 

  • Distinguished Alumnus/a Award - Honors alumni who have typified the NYU GPH tradition of excellence and brought credit to the school or university by their accomplishment, professional achievement, or humanitarian service.  The Distinguished alumnus/a will be invited to serve as the Chief Marshal for the NYU GPH graduation ceremony. The nominee must be an alum of a GPH graduate degree program.
  • Distinguished Undergraduate Alumnus/a Award - Honors alumni who have typified the NYU GPH tradition of excellence and brought credit to the school or university by their accomplishment, professional achievement, or humanitarian service. Must have graduated as a GPH undergraduate co-major. The Distinguished Alumnus/a will be invited to speak at the GPH senior toast.
  • Community Champion Award (Individual)Recognizes an individual's outstanding contributions that address critical social, economic, and environmental needs throughout our society, local, or global communities. The nominee must be an alum of a GPH graduate degree program.
  • Community Champion Award (Groups/Organizations)Recognizes outstanding contributions that address critical social, economic, and environmental needs throughout our society and communities, including local and global communities. Formal organizations or informal groups are eligible. The nominee(s) must demonstrate community impact on a local, national, or global scale or have impacted the NYU GPH or University.
  • Global Achievement AwardHonors alumni who exemplify the NYU GPH tradition of excellence and have brought credit to the university and their profession in the international arena through their professional achievements or humanitarian service. The nominee must be an alum of a GPH graduate degree program.
  • Outstanding Recent Graduate AwardHonors recent graduates of NYU GPH (within 7 years of graduation) for outstanding achievement or service in their professional or volunteer life. Support of NYU may be a consideration, but is not a requirement. The nominee must be an alum of a GPH graduate degree program.
  • Public Service AwardHonors NYU GPH alumni who have brought credit to the university or the school by their current or recently concluded distinguished public service as elected or appointed official. The nominee must be an alum of a GPH graduate degree program.

Call to Action description
To nominate an individual, group, or organization for any of the awards, please use this form. One letter of support (2 pages maximum) that details the qualifications of the candidate for the award is required. Professional or academic references are acceptable.
Award Ceremony

There will be an annual alumni awards reception to celebrate the achievements and contributions of our exceptional alumni, friends, and partners during the NYU Parents and Alumni Weekend.  

The 2024 NYU GPH Alumni Awards reception will take place on October 26, 2024 at Trattoria One Fifth by Chef Marc Forgione’s (1 5th Ave, New York, NY 10003).
