Third Annual PQAR Symposium

July 20
9am-3:30pm
708 Broadway, 8th Floor, Room 801

Hosted by the GPH Department of Biostatistics and PQAR Summer Program

The Pathways into Quantitative Aging Research (PQAR) summer program is a National Institute of Aging (NIA) funded summer program hosted by the Department of Biostatistics at the NYU School of Global Public Health. The program invites 12 undergraduate students from underrepresented groups to visit NYC/NYU for six weeks during the summer. During this time, students are taught quantitative public health methods, engaged through faculty lectures and conduct supervised research with NYU faculty.

On Thursday, July 20, we invite members of the GPH community to attend our Third Annual PQAR Symposium, where students will present the research they have conducted this summer. This is an exciting event where students will be presenting on topics related to obesity and dementia, adult maternal age and birth outcomes, hormone replacement therapy, and tobacco use as it relates to the aging process. Dr. Alisa Stephens-Shields, Associate Professor of Biostatistics (University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine) will deliver the keynote speech on the topic of "Innovative Statistical Applications in the Testosterone Trials."
