José A. Pagán, professor and chair of the Department of Public Health Policy and Management, has been named to the City & State “2024 Power of Diversity: Latino 100” list. The publication recognized Dr. Pagán for his role as board chair of NYC Health + Hospitals, his health equity research, and his work at NYU GPH.
As board chair of NYC Health + Hospitals since 2019, Pagán oversees the largest public healthcare system in the United States with nearly 50 facilities, including 11 hospitals.
Pagan has led research, implementation, and evaluation projects on the redesign of health care delivery and payment systems. His research interests include population health management, health care payment and delivery system reform, and the social determinants of health.
