UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS
The undergraduate programs and courses at GPH prepare students to understand:
- the key historical milestones in the development and evolution of the field of public health from both the US and international perspectives.
- the biological, social, environmental and structural determinants of health and the interdisciplinary approaches and methodologies used to study these determinants.
- the data analytic techniques and epidemiologic concepts employed to measure disease occurrence and frequency and how the information obtained from these measures is used to assess the health of populations.
- how to read the public health literature.
- how to compare measures and outcomes of health systems and policy in high, middle and low income countries.
- how to apply concepts of public health promotion and prevention to engage in collaborative and culturally relevant public health activities that, in turn, promote social justice.
- how to connect public health concepts to disciplinary training in the field.

Public Health & Bioethics Minors
Students are introduced to the field of public health and bioethics, allowing them to take a range of courses specifically designed to provide an understanding of key topics.
Co-Majors
Students co-majoring in public health learn how to apply epidemiological methods and biostatistical techniques to conduct ethically informed research on health disparities.
4+1 Programs
Students can earn both a bachelor's and a master's degree in only five years through our accelerated 4+1 programs.
