Teaching Resources

GPH is here to help our teaching faculty with everything from proposing new courses, to staying up-to-date on NYU policies, to taking teaching-intensive workshops.

NYU Resources

  • Academic Calendar - consult the Academic Calendar for important semester dates, holidays, and schedules.
  • Brightspace - NYU Brightspace is an online learning management system that all faculty should use in their courses, whether they meet in person or online.
  • Center for the Advancement of Teaching - The Center for Faculty Advancement (CFA) is devoted to faculty support and development — from recruitment to career advancement — throughout the faculty life cycle. Our goal is to foster both individual scholars and the academic community at large by enhancing research and teaching excellence within NYU, and promoting public engagement with the world outside of NYU. Additional resources for faculty advancement may be found here.
  • Copyright and Other Information
  • Course Feedback - a.k.a. course evaluations. GPH administers both midterm and final course evaluations each term for all full-semester courses. Shorter courses only receive a final evaluation.
  • Final Exam Schedules - final exam information for your class(es) will appear in Albert several weeks after the start of the semester.

Syllabus-Specific Resources

Below are resources to assist you putting your course syllabus together.

Deadlines for New Course Proposals:  Course proposals are due 3 weeks before each Academic Affairs Committee meeting as outlined below. For example, if you would like your proposal to be reviewed at the October 25th meeting, the documents should be submitted no later than October 4th.
