Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and intermittent international travel restrictions that were imposed last spring and continue for some countries, GPH has suspended its study abroad travel requirement for those co-majors graduating during the 2021-2022 academic year. While we encourage study away as particularly informative and enriching to students in global public health, we acknowledge that it may be challenging, particularly for current juniors and seniors, to fulfill that requirement if they have not already done so. We will monitor the situation closely during this academic year and will extend the suspension as appropriate. In the meantime, for students interested and comfortable to study abroad you can contact the Office of Global Programs for available opportunities and deadline dates for applications
Students who are unable to study away for a semester, may petition to waive this requirement by completing this study away waiver form.
Your global health major requires one Fall or Spring semester abroad at one of NYU's 14 global sites. While you are not required to take a public health course during your semester away, we do offer many of our core courses at various NYU global sites:
