Keynote speaker: Alisa Stephens-Shields, PhD, Associate Professor of Biostatistics, Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania
Her research focuses on extensions and innovative applications of causal inference to enhance the design and analysis of clinical trials. She also works in the development of patient-reported outcomes to inform population-appropriate trial endpoints. Dr. Stephens-Shields was a lead statistical investigator for the Testosterone Trials, a set of coordinated trials to examine the effects of testosterone replacement therapy on health outcomes in older men with low testosterone, including sexual function, physical function, vitality, cognitive function, anemia, bone density, and cardiovascular health. Dr. Stephens-Shields is a 2023 elected Fellow of the American Statistical Association and recipient of the inaugural Committee of Presidents of Statistical Societies Leadership Academy award and currently serves as an associate editor for Biostatistics and the Annals of Internal Medicine. She holds Ph.D. and A.M. degrees in Biostatistics from Harvard University and a B.S. in Mathematics with a minor in Spanish from the University of Maryland, College Park.
