It is with tremendous pleasure and excitement that we write this afternoon in response to the announcement earlier today from President Hamilton and Provost Fleming, of our school’s next Dean, Dr. Debra Furr-Holden.
Dr. Furr-Holden is a renowned scholar, epidemiologist and biostatistician, and thus an ideal choice to lead GPH in the important next phase of its young history. She has played a vital role in highlighting the corrosive effects that disparities play in public health, shining a bright light on Covid-19, clean water and opioids and their devastating impact on our most vulnerable communities.
We are thrilled with Dr. Furr-Holden’s selection and very much look forward to her taking on the role of Dean on July 1, 2022.
