The vaccination rate of low-resource countries stands at less than 6%, while it is over 70% in high-resource countries. In this webinar, Dr. Boghuma Titanji, Infectious Diseases Fellow at Emory University School of Medicine, will discuss COVID-19 global vaccination efforts, where things currently stand with vaccinations across various low-resource countries, what has led to this situation, and what is needed to attain global vaccine equity. Dr. Titanji’s presentation will be followed by a moderated Q&A with Alzahraa (Zizi) Ahmed, Community Health Representative, NYU Langone Perlmutter Cancer Center.

About the Speaker
Dr. Boghuma Kabisen Titanji (MD, MSc., PhD ) is a Cameroonian born physician and scientist, currently based at Emory University in Atlanta where she is an Infectious Diseases Fellow. Her clinical focus is people with HIV and her current research focuses on chronic inflammation as a mediator of cardiovascular disease in people with HIV. She is passionate about global health and using science to influence health policy through science communication and advocacy.
