Hosted by NYU Langone
NYU Langone’s Section for Health Equity, in collaboration with NYU Langone’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute, Department of Population Health, Office of Diversity Affairs, Institute for Excellence in Health Equity, and the NYU-CUNY Prevention Research Center, sponsors the annual Health Disparities Symposium.
Each year, the symposium aims to highlight the current state of health disparities through the lens of a specific theme. This year’s conference theme will focus on intersectionality. Conference topics will explore intersectional identities, methods for assessing intersectionality, collaborations and engagement with communities, and controversies in population health.
The keynote speaker for our 2022 symposium is Lisa Bowleg, PhD, MA. Dr. Bowleg is a professor in the Applied Social Psychology Program of the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences and director of the Social and Behavioral Sciences Core of the DC Center for AIDS Research at George Washington University.
