WHO "Health for All" Film Festival Watch Party

September 08
3-4:30pm
708 Broadway, Room 1001

Hosted by the GPH Office of Undergraduate Programs

The NYU GPH WHO Health for All Film Festival Watch Party is an event where GPH undergraduates (graduates are welcomed too) discuss various winning films of the 2023 World Health Organization (WHO) Health for All Film Festival. Films come from all around the world in countries like Bangladesh and Brazil, take on a variety of different forms from documentary to animation, and bring to light different health issues. Attendees will watch a selection of the winning short films, followed by a guided discussion about their impressions and thoughts of the films, directors' stylistic choices and how they shape the stories, and the messages that they think the film is conveying.

The watch party aims to connect GPH students with one another, expose them to different current health issues around the world like clubfoot, mental health, emergency response, etc. Additionally, the event will challenge students to think critically about health messaging and potentially get them thinking about how they can apply the techniques they see into their own public health works.

Food is provided!

Please note, this event is open only to current NYU students, faculty, and staff. It is not open to the general public.
