Learn how to best access and search data.census.gov for American Community Survey, Decennial Census and other census demographic data, with U.S. Census Bureau Data Dissemination Specialist Joli Golden. Join us as we share ways to meet your data needs through our user-friendly portal and teach how to search for a variety of geographies including PUMAs (Public Use Microdata Areas) and Census Tracts. Demographic data topics we will touch upon include: race and ethnicity data; economic and income data and health and disability data and housing data. There will be interactive exercises during this presentation and workshop session including how to create a thematic map using data.census.gov.
About the Speaker:
Joli Golden is a U.S. Census Bureau Data Dissemination Specialist in the New York Region focused on New York City. Her current position involves educating the public on the availability, extraction and usage of the vast array of data on the Census Bureau’s website. Joli served as a Partnership Specialist during the 2020 Census and recently re-joined the Census Bureau. She received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Fine Arts from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television.
