Please join the Department of Biostatistics for a Professional Development Series event titled, "Biostatisticians at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center" featuring guest speaker Dr. Katherine Panageas, Associate Attending Biostatistician and Director of Research Support.

Dr. Panageas is involved in the analysis of cluster correlated data and random effects models in the context of health services research. She is currently involved in developing a framework for hospital profiling in cancer care in collaboration with colleagues from the Center for Health Policy and Outcomes. Profiling hospitals and/or physicians based on the quality of care they provide to patients is a priority for policy makers, payers, and the public. The Biostatistics Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is comprised of 17 faculty members and 18 masters level biostatisticians who conduct research with diverse interests including: clinical trial design, predictive modeling, genomics, imaging studies, cancer survivorship and patient reported outcomes. In this session Dr. Panageas will speak about what it is like to work as a research biostatistician at MSKCC, professional development programs offered at the center, review the interview process and detail the career ladder of a Biostatistician.

Lunch will be served. Please RSVP by Monday, December 2.
