This event is part of the Global Center for Implementation Science Virtual Research Seminar Series.
Dr. Leopoldo J. Cabassa is a Professor and Co-Director of the Center for Mental Health Services Research at the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis. His research examines physical and mental health disparities in historically underserved minority populations with serious mental illness (SMI). His work blends health inequities research, quantitative and qualitative methods, community engagement, intervention research, and implementation science. His scholarship is making significant contributions in three areas: improving depression literacy and reducing stigma toward mental illness in the Hispanic community; reducing physical health disparities in racial/ethnic minorities with SMI; and improving care for people experiencing first-episode psychosis. In this talk, Dr. Cabassa will present his latest work on using implementation science to address healthcare inequities.
