On January 27, 2017, President Trump issued executive order 13769, “Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry into the United States,” commonly referred to as the “Muslim ban.” While immigration enforcement actions and other immigration policies have been associated with changes in healthcare utilization in other settings and among other populations, little is known about the health effects of executive order 13769 on Muslim-Americans in the United States. Join Dr. Gregg Gonsalves of Yale University for a conversation about the study which sought to investigate the impact of the “Muslim ban” on healthcare utilization and stress-related diagnoses in a large Muslim-American community in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota.
Faculty, students, and staff, as well as the general community, are invited to attend this lecture and Q&A at the end.
