Description
This 2019 study evaluated the impact and cost-effectiveness of intensified dengue control measures in the Panadura Medical Officer of Health division in Sri Lanka. It found that the vector control program led to significant reductions in both the Breteau index and dengue incidence rates. Additionally, the program was cost-saving, particularly under scenarios of moderate to high hospitalization levels for dengue cases. This suggests that well-implemented vector control interventions can effectively reduce the burden of dengue and provide economic benefits to affected communities.
