Step 1: Accept or Decline your Offer of Admission
We hope you decide to join us here at the NYU School of Global Public Health, where we are training the next generation of pioneering innovators in public health!
Now that you have an offer of admission, you have until the deadline indicated in your letter to accept or decline the offer. In order to do so, you'll need to log in to your application status portal, where you'll find the reply form to accept or decline the offer.
If you do decide to accept the offer, you'll be asked to pay a $500 tuition deposit to secure your place in the program. This deposit is applied toward your first term's tuition and is non-refundable. Your spot in the program is not confirmed until the deposit is paid.
Please note that once the deadline given in the letter passes, you will lose access to the reply form and no longer be able to accept the offer of admission.

Step 2: Activate your NYU Email Address
Once you are accepted to NYU GPH, we will activate your official NYU email account. Most University offices, including Graduate Admissions, Financial Aid, the Bursar, Housing, and Student Affairs, will communicate with you via your NYU email account exclusively, so be sure to check it often.
To access your NYU email account, use your NYU credentials to log into NYUHome then search for the NYU Email card. If you're using a mobile device or desktop application, review our setup instructions.

Step 3: Financing Your Degree at NYU GPH
If you have been awarded a scholarship by NYU GPH, you will be notified shortly via email to check another update to your application portal. If you do not receive such a notification, you have not been awarded a program scholarship by NYU GPH
Other forms of financial aid such as federal loans, grants and/or work study are available to you if you qualify. If you filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), you will be notified via email by the Office of Financial Aid when your financial aid package is ready for viewing. You should expect to hear from them in late March for Summer/Fall enrollment or early December for Spring enrollment; if you are accepted after these windows, you will be notified approximately 2 weeks after receiving your official acceptance message. At that time, you will need to log on to your NYUHome account with your NetID and password and go to the Financial Aid section to view the financial aid information when it becomes available. Please note that if you filed a FAFSA but did not include your social security number in your SOPHAS application, the financial aid office will not be able to access your FAFSA and issue you a financial aid package. If you need to add an SSN to your record, please contact the GPH Office of Admissions.

Step 4: International Students: Obtain a Student Visa
NYU's Office of Global Services (OGS) will assist you in the process of obtaining your visa to study in the US. Visit the Get a U.S. Visa website for next steps. Please be sure to apply for these credentials as quickly as possible, as it may take time to process your paperwork and obtain your U.S. visa. Use overnight and express mail wherever possible.
If you’re currently in the US at another school or recently completed your program at another US school and need to transfer your immigration record to NYU, please review the Office of Global Services' instructions to transfer to NYU.

Step 5: Housing in NYC
On-Campus Housing
Since on campus housing is not guaranteed, graduate students are strongly encouraged to seek their own accommodations. On campus housing offers will be extended only if space becomes available via the waitlist housing application.
Graduate students can access the housing application on the NYU Global Home Housing Forms card when the application becomes available. The housing office will provide an update on availability by the end of April. For more information, please see the Applying for Housing site or email the housing office at housing@nyu.edu.
Off-Campus Living
The NYU Student Resource Center (SRC) provides students with general advice and resources in the apartment search process. Although the SRC does not provide actual apartments, links to housing search websites, a housing and roommate Registry exclusively viewable to the NYU Community, market information, a discount broker, tenant resources, and other links are provided on the Off Campus Living page.-
Step 6: Transfer Credits
New NYU GPH students can apply to transfer up to 9 credits into their new master's program. In order to make a transfer credit request, please submit a completed transfer credit request form to the manager of registration services at lrk219@nyu.edu.
Credits may be considered for transfer if they meet all of the following:
• Carry graduate status and be from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or international equivalent
• Not have been used toward another completed degree
• Have been earned within the past 5 years with a letter grade of B or better-
Step 7: Health and Immunization Requirements
New York State law and/or New York University require all newly admitted students complete several health-related requirements.

Step 8: NYU ID Card
Your NYU ID Card gives you access to NYU buildings including the libraries, fitness centers, and computer labs. Getting your NYU student ID, known around campus as your NYUCard, is now easier than ever. New students and first-time card holders can visit photoid.nyu.edu to submit a photo online and, once approved by the NYUCard Center team, pick up a new card within a few days. Photos submitted and approved by 3pm can be picked up on the following business day.

An Important Note About Spring and Fall Coursework
For students enrolling in on-campus coursework, NYU has fully resumed in-person instruction as of the current academic year, and has welcomed students back on campus. Faculty and administrators are on-campus and a full schedule of in-person courses will be offered.

Make a personal appointment with a student admissions ambassador
We encourage admitted students to speak with a student ambassador personally to discuss the program and their own academic and professional goals. Student admissions ambassadors are also able to answer questions about the application, your offer of admission, or how to accept or decline the offer. We would be happy to speak with you; simply use our handy online calendar scheduling system to make an appointment.

New Student Orientation
Spring admits will receive an email from the Office of Student Affairs about new student orientation before classes begin in January. For fall admits, the NYU GPH New Student Orientation will take place in late August.
Attendance at orientation is mandatory, as it is an important opportunity to review program policies and procedures as well as to meet your fellow incoming students.
Once details about orientation have been finalized, they will be emailed to all incoming students.

Registration for courses
Registration for spring classes opens in mid November, while registration for fall classes will open in late May.
Most incoming GPH students will be required to take a prescribed set of core courses in their first term in the program. Newly enrolling students will be contacted via email by the manager of academic and registration services with details on how to register for fall coursework and which courses they should register for.

A student's educational expenses are assessed each semester and are based on the number of credits (also known as "points") for which he or she registers. In addition to tuition, students also pay registration/student service fees. The Board of Trustees of New York University reserves the right to alter the schedule of fees without notice. We expect a moderate increase in tuition and registration/service fees each academic year.

Final transcripts
If you decide to enroll at the NYU School of Global Public Health, we require that you send us official transcripts for any degree that was in progress and not completed as of the submission of your SOPHAS application. If any prior degrees were completed as of your application submission, you do not have to submit any further documentation to NYU. If you need to send us a final transcript, each transcript must be sent to the NYU GPH Office of Admissions and be received prior to your first term of registration. Any transcript you send must be an original official transcript with the Registrar's stamp or signature. Documents in a language other than English must be accompanied by notarized translations.

How do I accept my offer of admission?
To confirm your place, we require a non-refundable tuition deposit -- as requested in your offer of admission -- that is applied as a credit to your student account. You can accept our offer online in your application status portal and pay your non-refundable deposit by e-check or major credit card. Please note that you are required to respond to the offer of admission by the deadline given in your admission letter. Once the deadline passes, you will lose access to the decision reply form and we cannot guarantee a place in the any class for those who fail to respond by the deadline.

Can I have an extension on my deadline to accept the offer?
While it is possible that we may be able to accept new enrollments after the deadline, it is not guaranteed. The only way to ensure your place in the cohort to which you've been admitted is to accept our offer of admission by the appropriate deadline.

Can I defer my offer of admission?
The NYU School of Global Public Health will consider requests to defer admission for up to one year if they are made prior to the enrollment decision deadline by applicants with outstanding offers of admission. In order to request a deferral of an offer of admission, admitted applicants must complete and submit the deferral request form by their enrollment decision deadline. How much financial aid am I being awarded?
Financial aid encompasses a broad range of types of assistance that can help you finance your graduate education. NYU GPH awards program scholarships to selected students; if you were awarded a scholarship from the program, you were notified separately. If you did not receive such a notification, then you have not been awarded a scholarship by the MPH program.
Whether you have a scholarship or not, different forms of financial aid may be available to you. For U.S. citizens and permanent residents who file the FAFSA, federally subsidized loans and grants can help you pay for your degree. A variety of additional, private (non-federal) alternative loans are also available from individual lending institutions, as are student employment options ("work-study").
Accepted applicants can expect to receive a financial aid "package" from the NYU Office of Financial Aid. This package will outline the expected cost of your education for the upcoming academic year and indicate to you the different kinds of financial aid available to help finance those costs.

Can I work on-campus while enrolled in the program?
NYU's Wasserman Center for Career Development is the place to go for any job-related information. Graduate Student Services at Wasserman are geared specifically towards the needs of master’s and doctoral students. They offer comprehensive programs to help you learn about and take advantage of training and job opportunities both on campus and beyond.
The Wasserman Center has its own online database system called NYU CareerNet, where students can search postings for current federal work-study positions and non-work study on-campus student employment opportunities. Create an account on the NYU Career Net to search and apply to positions!

Can I take a campus tour?
Although NYU does not offer tours specifically oriented to public health, you may be interested in signing up for a general graduate student tour of campus. You can sign up for a campus tour here.

Is housing available?
NYU offers an extremely limited amount of housing to graduate students. The MPH program expects that the vast majority of MPH students will secure off-campus housing, which is generally cheaper and more flexible than NYU housing. The NYU Office of Off-Campus Living can help newly admitted students navigate the New York City rental market.
Admitted students who are interested in applying for on-campus housing should follow the steps outlined in "Step 6" above and seek more information on the NYU Housing website.

I am an international student. How can I obtain a student visa?
The information above directs you to information on how to begin the process of applying for an F1 student visa. The NYU Office of Global Services (OGS) provides immigration advising and guidance and students work with the OGS on issues pertaining to student visas. No visa documentation should be sent directly to the MPH program offices, as we do not process such materials.
