The Pipelines into Quantitative Aging Research (PQAR) summer program is a NIA funded summer program hosted by the Department of Biostatistics at the NYU School of Global Public Health. The program invites 12 undergraduate students from underrepresented groups to visit NYC/NYU for 6 weeks during the summer. During this time, students are taught quantitative public health methods, engaged through faculty lectures and conduct supervised research with NYU faculty.
On Thursday, July 21, we invite members of the GPH community to attend our Second Annual PQAR Symposium, where students will present the research they have conducted this summer. This is an exciting event where students will be presenting on topics related to gut microbiota, drug-use, Alzheimer disease and diabetes management as it relates to the aging process. American Statistical Association Vice President, Dr. Scarlett L. Bellamy, will deliver the keynote speech on the topic of "Nudges, Grit and Grinding: My career (so far) as an academic Biostatistician."
