PHANYC is a meeting ground for public health professionals and students living and/or working in New York City. Employed by a variety of organizations – the government, hospitals, non-profits, NGOs, universities – and/or enrolled in one of several graduate programs in public health in the New York City area, they are united by their interest in promoting health and preventing illness.
The March PHANYC meeting's topic is Cancer Burden in NYC. The talk will be facilitated by Michael Davoli, the Director of the New York Metro Government Relations, American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN).
Michael Davoli is the Director, New York Metro Government Relations, for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), the advocacy affiliate of the American Cancer Society. Michael leads ACS CAN’s efforts to increase cancer screening, reducing tobacco use, promote healthy eating and active living, expand cancer research and more. He has more than twenty years advocating on public policy issues at New York City Hall, the State Capitol in Albany and on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C.
