This event is mandatory for all incoming graduate students.
Join the GPH Student Affairs Team for the Graduate Students Orientation. This event is a social and academic overview for new graduate students, comprised of workshops, panel discussions, and social activities designed to help new students prepare for graduate school and become familiar with the various services available on campus.
Note for International Students: As part of Day 2, the GPH International Student Orientation will be facilitated by the NYU Office of Global Services and held on Thursday, August 29th from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at The Kimmel Center for Life, 60 Washington Square S, New York, NY 10012, 10th floor Rosenthal Pavilion. Join us to learn the basics of keeping your immigration status in the US valid as an F-1 or J-1 international student, employment options in the US, cultural adjustment and coping skills, US classroom culture, safety and security, and more. We recommend that you bring your passport, I-20 or DS-2019, and I-94 record (or a copy of each) with you to the orientation session. We won't collect them, but we will discuss each of these documents, and you'll find it useful to have them in hand as we go through the session. Please note: attendance for this session is required for all incoming international students.
